[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] addition to FAQ: Jimmy Smith
Someone at work who is heavily into old jazz told me that Jimmy Smith is _the_ B-3 player. I looked for Jimmy Smith CD's at J&R records, and noticed something interesting: on only two of the CD's is the keyboard of his organ visible. On both pictures the drawbars are all set the same! Here they are: 88888888 88800000 00 00000000 00000000 Do you think he really sets his drawbars that way? The 88800000 sounds pretty good with some 2 1/2' percussion, especially in the lower register. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++ from the disk of Steve Runyon p00866@psilink.com ++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
