Manual wiring / bottom octave

In a B-3, the sub-fundamental for the lower octave of the manuals is
wired to repeat the octave above it. Tone generator outputs 1 thru 12
are only available at the pedals. Yet, when i use only drawbars 2 and
3, and play a note down in the lowest octave, i hear a note that
corresponds to one in the tone generator bottom octave. This tone is
strong enough that i can play left-hand bass using the technique.

(i'm guessing that) Harmonic distortion (somewhere) is creating the
difference frequency between the tones of drawbars 2 and 3 (3sub-fund
and fund). This difference frequency is the sub-fundamental tone. I
verify this by pushing in either drawbar 2 or three... the low tone
goes away. My setup is a tube pre-amped B-3 with 145 Leslie.

Can anyone else verify this?

Does it happen with solid-state pre-amped Hammond? (Distortion in Leslie)

Is this normal behavior for a tube pre-amped Hammond?
