^Groove^

I thought I was dreaming but it's true! There is a God! And in the world
of keyboards, its name is B-3, ... er, XB-3! ;)

Hello all! (how many?)

I'm not a keyboard player, but an avid listener. When I first heard Jimmy
Smith's "The Sermon", I became a "B-3 head". Since then, I've collected as
much organ/Hammond B-3 music as I could afford. I started a periodical
posting called ^Groove^, which contains a short history of Hammond (excerpts
>from Keyboard Nov. '91) and a lot of artist reviews plus some discographies.
It's now a WWW page:

^Groove^ is available via ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gi/gilles/groove.faq

You can also view it with a WWW browser, here's the anchor:
<A HREF="ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/gi/gilles/groove.html";>^Groove^</A>

I realize that this list is focused on technical aspects of keyboards, but
if anyone would welcome discussions about B-3 (& other organ) artists, I
would love to post ^Groove^ and hear your comments/suggestions/flames.

Got some new stuff this weekend: "Big" John Patton and "Captain" Jack
McDuff have released new albums (1993/4 recordings). Patton's _Blue Planet
Man_ is excellent. John Zorn is one of the horn players!!! Freaky shit,
but man does it fit. Squeak!

I suppose you all know about the XB-3, but you can get promo GIFs from the
Compu$erve MIDI forum (uploaded by Hammond Suzuki USA).

Is the FAQ near ready? I'd love to see it regardless!

Play your Blues in B-3!

Gilles

P.S.: What's the volume like here?
