I am researching a trade mag article (and perhaps a book) on "The Hammond Organ", its history of development (both technical and artistic) and current use trends including maintenance tips, modifications, Leslie cabinets, parts availability, drawbar signature sounds and recording techniques. I am a recording engineer at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, NY, a maintenance technician and also a player. The slant of this article would be to help the owners out there appreciate and understand this instrument and offer insight for keeping them running and sounding great. I would greatly appreciate any information that would help me with this undertaking. I am looking for anectdotes about the company's history(Both Leslie and Hammond), esoteric maintenance tips and modifications. I would like to include listings and addresses with this article of parts suppliers, collectors, qualified technicians etc. If I can, in turn help anyone, I'd gladly try. Thank you
