re:Bass pedals

The post below got me thinking. On my Hammond Regency, the 25 note pedal
board can be removed completely from the organ very easily...it doesn't
unbolt or anything...just pick it up and slide it back. The pedals are
hinged from the back. They are completely self contained and could be used
free standing.

Started thinking if anyone has ever salvaged a set of pedals similar to
these from an old trashed organ and converted them to midi. This would
make a portable midi foot pedal setup. Perhaps this would be a way to add
full pedal capability to a couple of MIDI keyboards.

There was an interesing discussion a few weeks ago about the Bass
Pedal board on the Hammond and the various ways it is used in
performance. I'm a professional pianist/keyboardist in the San
Fransisco bay area. Over the past six months I 've had this
incredible urge to play jazz organ on some of my gigs. But being well
seasoned in the lugging of equipment, I decided to go the simulation
route. I'm now using a voce Micro B II and a Korg G4 Leslie simulator
and running it through my regular stereo set-up. My problem is
pedals. I have a set of Roland PK 5's which are essentially an
octave's worth of short MIDI pedals. They're physically hell to play.
So the other night I'm at a local club talking to Chet Smith, a local
organist, about pedals. He tells me that no one makes a portable
version of real B-3 pedals.
I ask him about Voce's pedal board, and he tells me that they are
hinged from the front and not the back and that this is a serious
shortcoming. So, Dave Amels if you're out there -- What's the deal?
Is your pedal board the answer to the guy who wants to walk bass like
the big guys? Oh, and while I'm here, what preset on the Micro should
I use for the pedals --#23?

                                               Steve Czarnecki

P.S. I really like the Micro B and I can't wait to check out the V-3.
