Re: Question -XB-5 Rom upgrade

You have hit a nerve here with me. The XB-5 is not my favorite puppy, or
even on my top 5 list. I maintain ONE on tour, purchased by Richard Marks,
which Dave modified and tied a Leslie 145. This actually sounds real nice,
but most anything with a modified screamin' GP 145 sounds nice.

An XB-5 is NOT two or three XB-2's. (way too expensive for this)
An XB-5 is NOT close to an XB-3. (light years apart)
It is not like the old Porta-B, which was a portable L-100 anyway.

What it is close to.... I have no idea, just not to me.

For portability, two 61-note manuals, pedals, great HAMMOND sound, good
price, get a damn KORG BX-3 and start playin'...BUT use a Leslie...
Resurrection Electronics will keep it running, and is very good to deal with.

If you can afford an XB-3, properly set-up and tied into a Leslie 122, this
is an option which many of my pro-players are now considering, provided we
give the go ahead. Once a few more technical issues are settled with the
organ hardware / software, the hum and motor problems with the 122XB's are
solved by either the factory or GOFF Professional "elves", I may break the
news that one or more of our major bands has one ON-TOUR as a test. Note I
said major band. This = a band who has songs which we can hum the melody
from memory.

Promise to tell when it happens...
