[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] PRO-3 deal (maybe)
Folks,
Like others on this list, I've been anxiously waiting for the
PRO-3 from Motion Sound to become available. The ship is almost in. E.U.
Wurlitzer (not the piano company) is a small reputable chain of music
stores based in Boston and is getting a few of them in soon. I'm trying to
get them to offer a special mail-order deal on PRO-3's to subscribers of
this interest list. Pricing and details about international availability
are being worked out. I have dealt with E.U. Wurlitzer for years and can
definitely vouch for their reputation.
As part of looking into this, I'm trying to find out how many folks
on this list might be interested in getting a PRO-3 this way (no obligation
of course). If you think you might be interested, drop me a line at
longo@zk3.dec.com (not to the list in general). If there's enough
potential in this that they actually work out a deal for us, I'll post the
info here.
For those who don't know yet, the PRO-3 (reviewed positively in the
May issue of KEYBOARD) is a Leslie simmulator with a mechanical rotor, a 35
watt amplifier for frequencies above 700Hz and electronic Leslie
simmulation for the frequencies below 700Hz, available unamplified at a
1/4" output jack. The PRO-3 is intended for use in tandem with a
traditional keyboard amplifier, PA, or whatever. The idea is that you feed
your organ (or whatever) signal to PRO-3's 1/4" mono input, route the PRO-3
low frequency output signal to your keyboard amplifier, and the PRO-3
amplifies and projects the highs through it's mechanical rotor (w/ titanium
driver). The PRO-3's horn and sound is very closely modeled on the Leslie
147.
