Most studio B3's I've looked at have a pushbutton footswitch added (stomp-box heavy duty style). Often this is mounted alongside the swell pedal (for sideways operation with right foot w/o leaving the swell), or sometimes the switch is on a separate (floating) box for left foot usage (assuming no bass pedals). If both of these options are strictly non-traditional "custom" mods, they are very common nonetheless. My chopper B3 has the trek-style toggle on the left endblock *AND* a footswitch (and no bass pedals)... given this choice (and nothing better to do with my left foot, except to maybe kick the guitarist from behind after some particularly lame riff), I almost always use the footswitch. When standing on top of the organ, though, I bet the endblock toggle would be a lot easier to reach... I was also wondering... is it much easier to order drinks from the bar while standing on top of a Hammond? /************************************************************************ * ben "jacobs", random@well.sf.ca.us, http://www.well.com/user/random/ * ************************************************************************/
