[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Goff shop manuals
I finally got around to ordering shop manuals for B3 and 122 from Goff Professional. Just a note of endorsement... this documentation paid for itself the first time I opened the binder. Detailed description of tone generator mechanism & lots of charts led me straight to the source of my problems (a jammed tonewheel spindle, making two tones unavailable). My B3 lives in a chopped case, so it's really hard to get inside to see what's up. Fortunately, the documentation helped me to solve the problem without need for diagnostic surgery. Pulling one of the magnets back by a very small amount freed the two wheels sharing that spindle to do their thing. (Also, I had to file a bit of wood off the inside back of the roadcase, which had jammed the magnet into its tonewheel in the first place). My tech would have been quite happy to get $100 for a house call to do the same 30-second job! Thanks Al. (The Goff binder is now packed away in my parts box for this week's roadtrip to Oregon Country Fair & Portland Blues Fest).
