[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Noise while switching presets
As of late, I'm noticing a lot of noise when I switch between the B and Bb presets on the upper manual of my chopper B (actually an A-100). The noise doesn't occur on any other presets, nor does it occur on the lower manuals. Output is to Trek II SSP-3, 122 RV. Also, re: my Trek II...my expression pedal is wired to an old DeArmond volume pedal using the suggested 100 ohm pot, and it works as designed, that is, when I pull back, theres is only a faint signal. How would I work it so that I can get the volume all the way off when I pull back. And finally, I had the opportunity to audition the Voce V-3 the other day. List $995, my local toy store said $795, but according to the store "the list was going up to $1195." Impressions: The raw sound of the unit was acceptable. It is a bit misleading auditioning the unit via headphones. With 88800000 perc 3rd, C-3 and Leslie simulation, the sound seemed "phase shifty." This was less noticible when played through a EV 15" and horn. As I only spent 30 minutes with the unit, I was not able to put it through all the paces. Since I've recorded with my B/122 and am used to the sound, I cannot say at this point if the V-3 is well suited to be used with a D.I. and printed to tape. Unfortunately, my toy store would not loan or rent the unit to me at a reasonable price to test in the studio. I would like to hear some feedback from V-3 owners regareding the results of mic'ing a live speaker or using it in conjunction with a Leslie. Thanks in advance, Brian Nelson
