H >An important quality for an organ controller is the ability to turn H >velocity sensitivity completely off. A lot of time you want to just H >touch the key and get the full sound - not have to hit it harder to ge H >full volume. Is this feature available on many comtrollers? The V3 only uses note velocity as an option for the percussion. H >I know that the Kurzweil Midiboad has a slider that lets you easily H >adjust/turn off velocity sensitivity. But its pretty heavy (75 pounds) H >and is out of production. Its really an excellent piano controller. H > H >The XB-2 also lets you turn velocity sensitivity off when using MIDI. H >Given this and the fact that it has a good expression pedal, a used XB H >could be a good candidate. However, the action is pretty "springy" H >compared to a B3. H > H >Any good recommendations? Dave Amels - can you recommend any H >controllers? I like the FATAR semi-weighted actions. The Roland A-30 feels very B-3 like. Check out companies which use FATAR actions like Ensoniq, Roland, and FATAR brand. However, be careful of the electronics used in the FATAR brands. The software and hardware are probably not up to the level of other brands. Hope this helps, /Dave Amels --- WinQwk 2.0b#1433
