[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] John Pittas Questions
John;
Some of the horn pulleys have been a little out of alignment on
the vertical axis. It is an issue we have taken steps to correct. The
pulley does not cause the box vibration though, this is do to horn-air torque
reaction and can not be completely controlled when using a single horn
design. When the PRO-3 is placed on an amp or other solid surface, vibration
has not been a problem that I am aware of.
Crackling sound ?
I don't know of any internal part to date that has caused this problem
John. Disconnect any input and test again on slow and fast speeds. Try
plugging the PRO into a line filter or different outlet. (The PRO has a
line noise filter built in thats good enough for most situations.) If you
are using multiple keyboards and or effects, try floating the grounds on all
but the bass amp.
The hole in the horn is to eliminate the vacuum at the fast
spinning horn mouth, thus the resultant pop when close miking the horn. (bad
idea sound wise anyway) It was a request from studio recording engineers
were noise reduction is paramount.
The pulley on the horn motor can accomodate a flat or round
belt. During testing, the round belt was quieter and more efficient than the
flat,- a nice bonus -It was also less expensive and longer lived. The
motor is tilted slightly to stop belt wonder on the pulley.
As always John, if a problem can be solved in the field and
a customer is willing to try we will help as much as possible. You are always
welcome to send the PRO to us, at our expense, for any warranty repairs.
Most people work hard for there money and we want them to be satified with
the decision to spend it on a PRO-3.
