<<Is the M100 anything like the B-3>> I owned a M-3 for years when I first started to play. I pushed it through two leslie 147s (Those where the days before PA mains and boards could handle the mic requirments). The M-3 had a great sound which was very similar to the B. However at the risk of being one of those people who say nothing can sub. the sound of a hammond console, here goes. I found when I switch to playing the B that the over all "fatness" of the sound was beter and I that the B sreamed better at the high ends. I was also told once that not withstanding the absents of the low octives that the tone generator was somewhat different than the B. However if I'm not mistaken, I think the percusion on my M-3 was same as the B. That part sounded great! Someone out in Hammond land could probably address this better. Having said that, If someone said I could never play a B-3 again (or subsitute console ie A100, BV etc,) hands down the M-3 would be my choice. It sure beats the snot out of playing on one of the want-a-be's (sorry for the pun) out there which I include the XB-2 to be one of. What ever you do, don't sell it, get a good leslie (147, 145 etc) and have fun. Just my thoughts TM
