I called the gentleman in the ad, and received a top price from him for one
"that had just come out af a private home and was a real beauty" - it was
now $4000. I went up to Seattle today (drove up from Portland, Oregon) and
the price was then up to $$5000 (two of them at that price.) A couple others
that were not nearly as nice were $3300 each - one of them had just had the
keyboards and some other pieces taken out and replaced with the keyboards
from an A100 (I think that was the model #). He told me that the price would
be so low because "just like fixing up an antique car, some people want the
original pieces ONLY in a unit like this, so they deserve to know just
exactly what they're getting". Getting one of the nice B3's and a 122 would
cost me "at least $6000." "So, can I fix you up with one of these???"
Ditto for Dave Little Organ in Fremont Ca. I read a post claiming B-3's and
Leslies for around $2k, but when I called, I was offered an A100 and a 147
for $4 k. However, I was lucky enough to find an A100 and a 122 from a
distessed seller and ended up paying $1550. It started it's price career at
$2500. By the way, I owe a great deal to this list and it's members in my
decision to go for the "real thing". The information I got here enabled me
to be a savvy buyer. And by the way -- I'm totally charged !!!

PS I still have to use the V-3 and Pro -3 for gigs, but that's cool in it's
own way.
