[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] The Moose Lodge Gig
>>With this said, I must admit that there were four things about the hall >>that were special: a B3, two (!) 122s, and a giant stuffed moosehead >>hanging just over the drummer's cymbals. perryh@firefox.co.uk (Perry Hemus) said: >..why the hell did you play your XB2 when a B3 was sat behind you??? >..it must have been there to be played? The B3 was way off the stage in a corner with a tarp over it. One Leslie was positioned in front of the stage where the rest of the band could not have really heard it (and its short cord was at its max length). The other 122 was in a hallway to the side of the stage of few feet behind the mighty B, and you had better believe I thought about setting it up on stage. I switch quickly between organ, a piano sound, and guitar throughout each set. I often don't partake in the final da-da-da da-da-da da-DAAAA-AAAA-AAA, BUMP! that the band plays at the end of each song to give me time to change instruments. It just wouldn't have worked for me to run to and from the B3. Yes, I could change the set list, but I didn't want to do that for numerous private and personal reasons. I was so distracted by my obsessional thinking about playing the B3 that in the first set, I inadvertently played a very interesting polytonal C major over D major thing (with the pedal to the metal). I hate that awful Clapton "You Look So Wonderful Tonight" easy listening wake up in a pool of barf song anyway. Why don't people scream for Traffic? Anyway, ever since I got a 145, I can't stand my 302. Why do they make the 302 so unbearably bright, (or why did I buy one?). I really don't mind the XB2, its the 302 that sucks ( but it does fit in my Honda Station Wagon at the same time as my XB2 and full guitar rig). Being that Saturday night at the Moose Lodge Hall looked suspiciously like an icky bar, it made me wonder if any surviving Mooses can even turn the beast on. Maybe things look very different on Sunday mornings. -- David Chertock ap412@lafn.org Fearful Earful Recording 310-285-3098 P.O.
