>Larry Johnson writes > >>All the dealers told me they wished they could find a way to get all their >>B3s and Leslies to Europe - they could get at least $12,000 for each B3, >>regardless of condition if they could just get them thru customs, etc. I endorse what Russ from the UK states re: the value of B's, C' etc. I bought a late 50's B3 from a gent in Miami for $2500. It is immaculate having spent its life in the original owner's lounge (parlo(u)r) and thus I was the second owner. It came with pedals bench and Leslie H31 single speed. The overal cost to my front door was $4,500, and in addition to that there was power and frequency conversion. There's little mileage in bringing B3's over to the UK on account of the high transport and conversion costs, and few of the B's I've seen in the US are really worth having. The UK buyers may go to $6000, but most want a four poster for about $3,500 and that inclused Pedals bench and Leslie. So forget $12,000. Concentrate on buying the instruments cheap in the States if you hope to make any profit. I would imagine there's plenty around. Just a question of finding folks who are not with the scene and now regard them as a large dust collector. Regards, AJ
