[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: Pro 3 and Leslie 25??
I have a similar setup (pre PRO 3) I have an 825 (or rather what's left of one) And a home built upper rotor assembly. I took the 12" out and put it 15" = tight fit. Painted the rotors floresent grn and orange I carry around a 147 amp with a polytone preamp to power it. Pros: Can easily load/unload myself. Very unique. All the pieces/parts of the real thing. Serval folks rave about the sound (including Reese Wynans of Double Trouble (Stevie Ray Vaughn fame). When it works, you can't beat it. Cons: The wood is not the same. Resonates differently. Really need to mike the unit to work properly. Cords...Cords...Cords...why all these cords ???? 150 lbs broken into 3 pieces is still 150 lbs. Hard to find a preamp without spending $300 on a Trek II Expensive to build ($800+), and takes time to keep up. I say try a PRO3. The lower rotor is not that big of a deal.
