There was, posted to this list a couple of months ago, a listing of
serial numbers versus ages of Hammond organs and Leslies. The
compilation was in its infancy and I'm not sure what its status is
now. I don't believe there was a 100k series listed, though the
80k-90k numbers were said to be in the 1962 range.

I just spoke with Jerry Welch about this and told him that this is one
of the most common questions we get. There was apparently no effort by
Hammond to record the manufacturing dates by serial number per se,
except for a period of five or six years, when Hammond included a
letter with each serial number. For these models he said he can date
them exactly. This practice was discontinued due to outcry from the
Hammond dealers. Apparently some buyers were hip to the numbering
scheme and could tell that a particular Hammond on the showroom floor
was not this year's model. Hammond discontinued this practice after
this.

Regarding the ages of Leslies, Ted Weber <tweber@netusa1.net>, can
date the Jensen C15L in them. I gave him the number stamped on mine
and he told me it was manufactured in the 16th week of 1969.
