Al, I can only hope that my story can serve as my CONFESSION.

Although I don't know if I should consider you as "the God of Hammond
Organs", you are at the very least a Saint. Therefore I say to you:
"Father, forgive me, for I have sinned." There. Now I can move on to
my next conquest. Hey while I'm at it I should probably confess some
of my other Hammond transgressions - adding solid state stuff to my CV
and Leslie! The list may get a kick out of my strange garage-bred
klooges (hey - how do you spell "klooge" anyway?).

When I bought the CV it was cut down and stood on four 2" pipes,
looking much like an elephant on stork legs, with the audio output
being an XLR jack to the G-G signals. I wanted a 1/4" output so I
added a little op-amp circuit that also had a percussion thing for the
top manual - B preset permanently having 3rd harmonic with a knob for
decay time. It sounds extremely chuffy and spitty and still looks like
an elephant on stork legs. Next project maybe.

The Leslie is a 122, bought sometime later. I added an unbalanced to
balanced converter for some 1/4" audio inputs and a long wire with a
footswitch controlling solid-state relays for the fast/slow/stop
control. The amp chassis had some extra output tubes parallelled on
the existing ones, and lasted a year or so before taking out its own
fuse (plus the house circuit breakers) in an orgy of blue radiation. I
tried to fix it but inside it was a mass of electrical tape and
silicon glue. Now there's a brand-spankin'-new GOFF 122 chassis in
there and overall it's quite a nice unit. Had to paint it black,
though, since the finish sucked when I got it.

Anyway in case you're keepin' count on who all has what, that's my
     inventory.

     - Gene

p.s. okay this may make you cringe but I need to ask you - if I had to
store the organ on it's side, should it be motor-up or motor-down?

Al (P.S. --- Mark, Brad, and other board members--- I
apologize for suggesting to Gene that he join our HAMMOND board. I
forgot about his dark side......) :-)
