The Final Word (yah right...)

The Hammond organ is very much like the Fender Rhodes piano in that,
while it really doesn't do a good job (by today's standards) of emulating
the instrument it was designed to sound like, it has a highly desirable
and unique sound of its own.

And as the guy at the store said (about the Rhodes) its great for jazz,
blues, and rock; sucks for classical...

BTW, we often use the M3 in our basement band and, my wife can attest, we
sound as grungy as they come. Pearl Jam has a single or two with prominent
Hammond parts in them, and you can routinely hear other vintage keyboards
such as Rhodes/Wurly piano, Mellotron, and analog synths on modern alternative
rock stations. So suprise!!!
