>I'd check the 6BA6 first. You might take one of the 6AU6's form the amp as a sub. It will work. The heater of this tube does not go directly to the 6.3V source, but through a 5 ohm resistor (actually 2 10 ohms in parallel). I've seen these resistors open preventing the tube from lighting.
