lock ring that comes on mic stands keep the right position on the
adapter, and slide in the mic. There have been some good posts here on
the list concerning actual location of the mics in the top and bottom of
a Leslie. I'm going to try a PZM mic in mine very soon; it's low and flat
and, if positioned correctly, should minimize wind and mechanical noises.
Seems like most opinions lean away from using condenser mics as they pick
up too much mech noise and their extended response picks up too much
wind.
