M3 progress report

Hello one and all.....ok now the fun has really begun!
            HELP!!!
As I said in my first post I am no electronics whiz (I can use a
meter, and know the difference between a cap and a resistor, but after
that......)
So far I have done a major cleaning of the organ (M3) and It's
really quite well preserved ( no corrosion on metal parts or frayed wires,
etc.)
I have also oiled her up and gave it the fire up test. Tone
generators(Wheels?) seem to spin up fine and run very quietly, and yes they
are diffently running. All the tubes light up, but no sound. I have
connected an outside source and determined that the speaker is in fact
operational. My question is after I test the tubes and if I find them all to
be ok, should I try and connect to an external amp and assure that the tone
circuts are working correctly ( and if so how do I go about this?) or
should I pull the amp out and begin to troubleshoot it first? Any ideas,
suggestions, or moral support would be greatly appreciated.
Also where would be my best source for tech. manuals and
schematics for an M3?
Sorry for all the newbie dumb questions, but I would really love
to get this organ singing once again.
Oh and one last dumb question. What would be a good Leslie match
for an M3? Space is at a premium here. I seem to remember a guitar player
long ago had a small Leslie that kinda looked like a Fender amp (was that a
760?) that would be perfect for me, are they still around?

                                                   your humble apprentice,
                                                         Jim Smith
