Jason -- the amp is rated at 40 watts nominally. It is capable of sending
almost equal amounts of power to each speaker, but at different frequencies.
 Don't mistake power handling with freq. splitting at a crossover point. 

The amp is loaded the same way as the new sub-woofer Xover is in the preamp
stage (active xover). The amp final stage never sees the VERY low bass, and
sends what's left to the woofer and the normal stuff to the horn, all through
the original  Xover of course. Now the amp has less to do, as the bass is the
hardest thing to reproduce, watt for watt.
