Re: Porta-B Output Level

Tube testers are readily available at Antique Radio and Ham Radio swap
meets. I have 5 tube testers, which I need because I restore equipment
from the 1920's to the 1970's. You can pay from $10 to $75. Go for a
mutual conductance (or transconductance) type if you can find one, make
sure it works, and check the chart or booklet to ensure it will test all
the tubes you normally work with. You can find scheduled local ham fests
or antique radio swap meets in Antique Radio Classified (free issues
offered in most electronics mags such as Popular Electronics or Electronics
Now), or Nuts and Volts.

PS Anybody else miss those tube testers at radio shack? Purchased a tube
tester second hand for $10 after leaving the service field. Its a rusty old
thing but keeps me from guessing.
