The best bet for mic-that-Leslie-on-a-budget is an SM57 on the bottom and another at the top 90 degrees apart; i.e. the bottom-rotor mic would face the front of the cabinet (away from the amplifier) and the top-rotor mic would face the side of the cabinet.
