Not exactly the ONLY person---- All drivers can self-destruct. Several owners
have blown the Treble drivers due to an overabundance of power (Beasty Boys -
250 watt SS amplifier mistake), extreme temperature changes (Rolling Stones -
Canada--- temp was minus 25 degrees in the truck, Leslie was unloaded and
then instantly put into service on a +110 degree stage under the lights), or
occasionally they do fail on their own (Cheryl Crow in the studio). One of
the HAMMOND board members biamps his Leslie's for extreme "Steppenwolf" type
distortion and has blown two drivers, but hates the sound of other drivers.
Not a warranty fix.

Was it in a tube amp Leslie cabinet or a special SS amp rig? (No need to fib
for sympathy, you already have it :-)

Don't panic, and NO MORE TEARS-- I'll help with the problem personally. Send
it back, I'll take a look. A vaporized voice coil will not gather sympathy!
Do you also cry when you get a ticket in hopes that the cop will not issue a
ticket? Maybe I'll try that....

****6550 TUBES-- I have had a very few of our privatelly GOFF Professional
6550 tubes suddenly self-destruct for no apparant reason (Dave K. -- you were
the 1st!) The problem was been traced to a minor production error at the
factory and has been fixed. These few tubes (8 out of over 1000 so far) did
not fail during testing nor during burn-in.

So, if anyone recently purchased our 6550's that do not perform for ANY
reason the way you want, I will issue a new pair *FREE* and even pay the UPS
ground charges, no questions asked. I will need the old tubes returned with
an explanation of what problem you experienced so I can stay on top of
quality control.

TECH TIP -- If the Leslie SLOW and FAST motors on either the top or bottom
try to run at the same time, this usually is caused by a shorted .1, 600V
suppression cap on the motor outlets. This problem is an indicator of the
need to rebuild the amplifier, just as delayed motor switching is, and short
tube life. Once these types of things begin to happen, transformers can
fail, causing more expensive repairs. Component aging is a primary factor of
amp failure.. look for the symptoms and address them prior to failure.
