        Yes, it's the same Joey DeFrancesco that plays with McGlaughlin in the 
"Free Spirits".  The Drummer's name is Dennis Chambers.

        The bass lines are definitely coming from the Hammond.  Joey says that 
he plays the faster bass lines in that group with his left hand.  I understand 
that much of his live bass work is done with his left hand with his left foot 
lending attack support but not doubling the left hand line.  Though I have 
heard 
him do some ripping live bass work with the pedals when both his hands were 
busy 
elsewhere.
