[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] New Rotor-Head on the List
I just bought a Model A (#1587) and a 31A Leslie (#1271) in great
condition but no cable. (While looking for the cable, the guy found the
pedals...so I didn't complain)
Without the cable I tried to get signal from the pre-amp and found no B+..
That led me to assume a pre-amp problem but Ted's message about how B+ comes
from the Leslie made more sense. With the pre-amp bipassed the "A" works and
sounds great. (Temporarily thru a Bassman head and a small Model120 Leslie)
So I need a cable at least.
The Leslie with it is a Model 31A . Amp has 4 6L6's (not 6V's) I have
the
skematic and also info on relay adjustment if anyone needs either.
Anyone know the impedence and pwr. handling specs on the upper driver?
It's a Jenson Model U-20. Lower is electromag 15".
The Leslie amp looks O.K. but with 115v to the proper pins I show no B+
so there's some kind of problem. (unless , of course , I now find that , in
the early Hammonds , B+ is actually generated in the cable itself and feeds
both ends. This would explain a lot but would make for a very expensive
cable!)

PS The CAE Sound's number is 415-348-2737
PPS I paid $250 for both pieces. I don't know what they may be worth...but
I'm a happy camper.
