A-102 for sale, Boston area

Went over to my neighbor's house tonight to see the
Hammond she wants to sell. (Yes, I'm amazed that she
wants to part with it at all.) It's a cream puff.

Its an A-102, sn 38817, light cherry, purchased in
Minnesota in 1964, shipped here in 1964 when new,
has been in the same house ever since, until 4 year
ago when she moved it to the garage.

Operation is excellent - everything works. Keys are
pristine, rocker switches have original gold lettering,
no smudges or chips. No labels on the presets.
Sound is excellent, all effects seem fine to me,
following Al's FAQ checklist - (note I don't have
any experience with organs this new or this good ... :-) )

The cabinet is perfect, as mentioned earlier. She
showed me each of the 7 or 8 invisible scratches,
which I had to squint to see. You could put this in
a showroom alongside new ones and it would look better.

Some evidence of use on the pedals, but not much.
In the back - the amps have a thin layer of dust,
much less than I'd have expected for a 1964 instrument.

All in all - a cream puff. I'd buy it myself but I
just ordered a new car :(.

She's asking $1,500 - how does that strike you?

If any of the list members have a serious interest,
please e-mail me direct.

Thanks, mhs
