XB-2 as a split organ/MIDI keyboard?

Does anyone use their XB-2 in conjunction with a MIDI module to play organ
and MIDI tones in separate keyboard zones?

Basically I want to play MIDI piano with my left hand and XB-2 organ with
my right, simultaneously, both on the XB-2 keyboard. What is the best way
to configure this setup?

If I use the split facility on the XB-2, I can get the organ to sound in
the top octaves, and mute it in the bottom octaves. But how to get the
piano to sound in those bottom octaves and mute it at the top? (maybe this
has to be configured on the MIDI module?)

The XB-2 manual is pretty thin on MIDI implementation. Any other sources of
XB-2-specific MIDI info?
