[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] 145 wimped out
Had an outdoor gig last night. I set up my 145 only about 6 feet away from me. At first I thought it wasn't playing at all. I leaned a little closer and could hear it, but only just barely. I turned the M3 and the Preamp up all the way and this, of course, distorted the signal, but it's the only way I could hear anything. When they mic'd it, they had to turn the gain up so much that the wind generated by the horn and rotor was almost as loud as the signal itself. At this point, my monitor, which was about 15 feet away started feeding back because the mics were so hot. I finally just gave up and used the Pro-3 by itself. Since it worked fine, I concluded that the problem wasn't in the Hammond or the preamp. So what's happened to my Leslie amp? Everything sounds normal, it's just that the volume has been reduced by more than half. Is there anything obvious I should try first? Thanks, Stewart
