The "Concert Model" RT-series (RT, RT-2, RT-3) of Hammond organs all have:
Two 61-note manuals
12 control keys for each manual (9 preset, 2 drawbar adjust, cancel)
Vibrato and vibrato chorus
38 drawbars (two sets of 9 for each manual; two pedal drawbars)
91-tone rotating wheel tone generator
32-note concave radiating pedalboard
Pedal solo unit, vacuum-tube tone generator, 32/16/8/4/2&1-foot pitch tones
In short, the RT-series has every feature found on a B- or C-series organ,
plus the larger pedalboard and the pedal solo unit. Think of it as a B-
or C-series on steroids, if you like.
The pedalboard is not only larger (32 notes vs. 25), but curves upward at
both ends ("concave"), unlike the flat pedalboard of the B- and C-series.
Electrically, the RT-series is identical to the B- or C-series, except
for the added pedals and pedal solo unit. (The service manual has one
set of schematic diagrams for all three series.)
Physically, the RT-series console is about nine inches wider than the
B- or C-series, to accommodate the extra pedals and the controls for the
pedal solo unit. The RT-series weighs 525 pounds; the C, 450 pounds;
the B, 425 pounds.
How did the RT-series differ from one another?
RT: The original Model RT
RT-2: Same as model RT but with controls which provide Vibrato on either
or both manuals ("split" Vibrato). Also has additional control
for Normal or Soft overall volume.
RT-3: Same as model RT-2 but with added Hammond Percussion feature.
