        Deb and Geoff,

As the administrator of the Hammond list I am the *ONLY* person who can
remove someone from the list and please let me assure you that that you'll
never
be "booted" from the list, least of all because you tried to warn someone about
a danger you perceived as real. In fact, I've never yet removed anyone from
the
Hammond list for any reason (though I do get tempted from time to time! :-)),
and sure hope it never becomes necessary! A little tolerance goes a long way.
The very vast majority of the 370 odd subscribers to the Hammond mailing list
are considerate and helpful, and many freely donate their time and hard-earned
expertise to the list readership in generous portions.

The so-called "Good Times Virus" scare has surfaced every year or so
(sometimes more often) for at least the last 8-10 years that I know of, and
some
net veterans get very tired of hearing about it. The angry responses you
received are from such people. You were unwittingly repeating a tired saw, but
you had our best interests in mind, which is an honorable intention. No harm
done.

        Mark
