Value of 122

Fellow Hammond Addicts,

A church has a CV and 122 that have been in storage (alledgedly) since
1955 when their pipe organ was installed. They are taking bids on the
organ and Leslie as a team, not willing to sell them seperately.

I need the Leslie for a C3 project I have started. I do not need the
organ, but will take the good with the bad.

The Leslie cabinet is in very good condition with few scratches (as you
would expect from life in a church), serial number 24983. The amp
works, appears to have the original tubes, and has the stylized volume
knob (not smooth like on later models). The 15" speaker is a Jensen and
the driver is the typical unit. The upper choral motor will not turn
without hand-proping it for a while. Other motors all work well.
Anyone know if 122s were produced prior to 1955?

The CV is another story, not at all looking like it lived in a church.
Scratched and bruised, with the Leslie half moon switch broken off at
the base (all that's left is the part screwed to the rail and the switch
itself). It has an 82 note generator, serial number 11747. It seems to
have spent its life in storage as a coaster for canned beverages. Not
the worst example of a Hammond console I've seen, but certainly not what
most people would want for their living/music rooms. Mechanically and
musically the organ is quite functional; it could benefit from new TG
capacitors, but everything works per Al's checkout procedure from the
FAQ. Pedal felts badly in need of replacing (pedal playing sounds like
someone hammering).

What would you bid for something like this? Bidding ends August 8,
1996. Keep in mind that you are expecting to recap the organ, service
the upper slow moter and replace the half-moon switch (of course, even
though you have performed a thourough checkout, you may have missed
something).

Thanks for your input.

BTW: Brad has your wife been talking to mine?
