[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: Wall Warts and output connector on Hammond XM1
The reason is very simple that most off-shore manufacturers use
Wall Warts. The do not have to apply for, wait for and pay for "UL
Approval" on new products. They can ship new products and power them with
Wall Warts or Table Warts that have already received UL Approval.
Re: Wierd 8-pin Output Connector
The XM1 has a nonstandard 8-pin connector on the back for
presumably connecting to Leslie speaker cabinets, primarily the models 122
and 147. No Leslie cabinet can be connected directly to the XM1, an
interface box must be utilized. The connector on the XM1 is nonstandard on
purpose to prevent folks from trying to power their Leslie 122 through the
XM1 Wall Wart.
Hammond Suzuki is working on producing an adaptor box that will
accomodate most model Leslies. They will probably have this unit ready in
September or October.
