 Another similar product called "Goo Gone", also biodegradeable, is
great too. 

 I use it to rid microphone stands, snakes, and Leslie cables of the
soundman's nemesis: duct tape adhesive. I think this is the world's
most tenaciously stubborn adhesive compound.

 Its supposedly very safe, although I don't know if Madge soaks in it...
