Pete Levin wrote a "HAMMOND-players Worst Nightmare" post about his rental nightmare. It ended with -- << Never mind. I'm just venting. Cheeez, what a night! >> Pete-- If it makes you feel any better, I hear a lot of stories similar to yours. Jimmy McGriff told me his nightmare story about the night he and Jimmy Smith were to play a "dueling B" set together at Carnegie Hall (of all places) and one B-3 died, so they rolled out a crappy piano and rolled the dead B off stage. Somebody got it running and rolled it back on stage and rolled the piano off stage. Then the other B-3 died and was never resusitated. The show received poor reviews and both Jimmy's were pissed at S.I.R. Rental for such "terrific" rental equipment. So, Pete, I suggest you carry your VOCE V-3 with you as a spare... just in case. Bring a Leslie too, and a pedal preamp, spare cable, ..... :-) Did you consider beating the crap out of the rental equipment owner? Sal, Tony and others (me too) will help......... I wonder how the rentals are Down-under in Australia? Al
