[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: Hammond registrations as DX7 patches
Hi: I've tried everything to get that real sound out o' me old DX-7. It's just not possible (that's why I picked up the B and 122), or at least I have not been pleased with the FM-type sounds. It does simulate a good cheese organ, and the aftertouch adds to the melt. I've downloaded thousands of sounds from Dave Benson's DX-7 page: http://www.math.uga.edu/~djb/dx7.html and found a couple of quasi-decent sounds. Perhaps layering the sound with another synth would enhance the quality to make it a bit more real. At Dave's web site, you can also scam some librarian software (for Mac or PC) to add to the DX-7's limited on-board storage capacity. Cheers!
