Problems with 1147 XB-2 preamp

Hello,

last weekend I was have a grand time playing my M3 through my 145 and
decided to switch to my XB-2. Well, my XB-2 was already turned on as I
had been using it as a MIDI controller. The 1147 preamp was plugged
into the XB-2 but its power cord was not plugged in. I took my 6-pin
Leslie cable and connected it to the preamp. When I did this I heard a
small pop from my Leslie. I unplugged it, not because of the pop, but
because I realized I'd have to plug the 1147 into the power. I turned off
the XB-2, plugged the 1147 preamp into the power, re-attached the 6-pin
Leslie cable to the pre-amp and turned my XB-2 back on. Everything powered
  up ok EXCEPT,

        - no sound from the Leslie
        - when I changed speeds from the XB-2 the Leslie gave out a loud
          THUMP
        - before, when everything was fine I used to hear a local radio
station through the Leslie (I'm in an area of high RF interference)
; this was now gone (the only plus !)

At this point my knees began to quiver. I quickly hooked the XB-2 and Leslie
up to my old Leslie Combo Preamp and was able to confirm that the Leslie
was operating as before. XB-2 also operates fine. I also opened up
both the XB-2 and 1147 preamp just to double-check the fuses and they were ok.

I presume the problem is with the 1147 preamp but maybe I'm wrong. Any
ideas ? Has anyone else had a similar problem ? I'd like to figure out
which component (Leslie, XB-2 or 1147 pre-amp) is damaged before I take
  anything anywhere for servicing.

  Thanks in advance.
