Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year to list members. I'm catching up on all my mail after three weeks of hard drive failure. I need some speedy advice on a possible trade for an A-100/122. I looked at this instrument before and it needed some not so minor fixes but the guy was asking $1995. He has since traded it for midi gear then traded back for it with a friend. They both play in churches and like Hammonds but seem to quickly get bored, want other sounds, and are very impulsive. He covets my Kurzweil PC-88 piano/controller which I love, but is easily replaceable at some point down the line. I checked it out again and some stuff was fixed along with a light sanding and lightly glossy coat of some kind of varnish(yechh). It seems to play fine but I was mostly looking for problems that would either blow the deal or reduce its value. He has Krueger bass(disconnected),two half-moon controls, the bottom drum in the 122 doesn't turn in chorale position, a hard wired into the organ cable(4 leads hooked up), a loud pop/transient in the volume pedal in the last half-inch of travel in the quiet direction, and the onboard speakers/reverb are either bypassed or not working. Serial numbers:A-100 4242 , Leslie 122 H 41286. I've been holding my cards, he is very motivated, but I think he wants an even up trade. A PC-88 new is $1595 or a bit less so 1200 used is probably the most one could hope for. I'm thinking there is several hundred dollars of tech work here so my thinking is: A-100/122= PC-88+ $300-500 Also, the 122 takes much longer than the normal range of ramp times to get up to fast speed and doesn't seem to have that intense an effect although both rotors are spinning away, and the organ is plenty loud. I'd appreciate your input on the condition and what/if you would offer if in my shoes. Thanks-Looking to spin in 97! Phil Jelatis
