I have the oppurtunity to pick up a B2 at a fairly inexpensive price. What are the pros and cons of this model? I know that I'd have to install a percussion kit, and have the organ gone over by a tech, but what I'd really like to know is how good do these sound? As I have read on this list about the myriad of circut changes in the preamp and other parts, I really wonder what I would be getting into with a B2? A critical listening test will NOT be possible before buying as no leslie or tone cab is available. I could bring something as I have a 145 and lots of guitar amps if I knew how to easily use alligator clips on the pins to get an unballanced line out. Also how much does a percussion kit cost? How much do you techs on the list in the US generally charge to install one, and what is the ball park charge for basic reconditioning an old Hammond like this? All I know about the organ is that aside from couple of "plant rings" on the top, the cabinet is in excellant condition, and that one key sticks down.
