Hi Hammond Lovers, Best Wishes to one and all - hope your New Year was pleasant. Here comes a GOOD one .... "It" doesn't say "HAMMOND" on it. All I received was an upper/lower manual and a chassis of some type which purportedly was part of "it". Some clues: the key channels are similar to, but not the same as, M3 style key channels. The playing keys are similar also, (squared), but are of a different radius on the front only. The black keys have a different profile than standard Hammond black keys. The keys press down a -double- leaf switch contact - no multiple harmonics here. No bussbars. The upper manual has 49 keys (C to C), the lower, 44 (F to C). The way the wood is curved hints that the cabinet for this organ did not enclose the ends of the lower manual. The amp chassis is huge, and it's trying to tell me it IS a Hammond: ie; Hammond type volume control capacitor box, mounted on its side (!), two tuning knobs: labelled "big steps (1-3)" and "small steps (1-7)", 21 tube sockets, they're all typical Hamond tubes, and enough "AO" part numbers to convince me that Hammond did this .... although what "this" is, is beyond me! Back to the manuals - they are very similar to spinet manuals, but have curved wood pieces, presumably end blocks, mounted on the lower manual. Any ideas?
