>Dave, I'd like to upgrade my BC to the newer style drawbars. How >difficult/expensive is this job? Cheers, Ken Good question. Somebody on the list suggested it was a simple matter of replacing the old drawbars/contacts with new ones (salvaged from a spinet, for example) and I can tell ya first hand that this won't work. I know this because I spent the better part of last weekend trying to do it. It sure looked and felt like the drawbar contacts were making physical contact with the busbars, but it's pretty hard to see in there when it's all assembled. There was no electrical contact as evidenced by the VOM meter. I suspect that you either need to replace the busbars themselves, and/or the busbar shims, or perhaps the up-and-down spacing of the slits in the bakelite side panels is different. I'm not sure yet. Right now I'm trying to track down a newer drawbar assembly, or failing that, another old ratchet assembly that I can use as a guinea pig for my experimentation. That way the organ isn't "down" while I do the job. I plan to post the directions once I'm successful. Dave
