In a message dated 96-12-27 17:00:34 EST, you write: << Hi everybody: >Hey, does anyone know where I can obtain a picture of an x-66 console and >Leslie. I remember seeing a brochure in the late sixty's, early seventy's >that I believe was a hammond sales brochure. I'm interested in the cabinet >design. Did the x-66 have a tone-wheel generator? I always though it looked >great but I wasn't ready to trade my B in on anything. >Thanks >Rick Solveson >> The X-66 had a 12-note tone wheel generator. mounted in the pedestal base, that generated the top 12 notes needed. All other frequencies were derived by divider circuits mounted on fold-out panels. I have a few of these generators from parted out X-66s...they're fun to experiment with. Actually, the tone-wheel-generated sine wave converts into quite a cool square wave for brass and string voices...... Bruce
