They have far too much high end response, not enough low end response and are
too harsh and vrittle sounding . We tested all of the factory drivers
available from Eminence (16 and 8 ohm) and they FLUNKED immediately. These
are designed to be an upper mid driver, not to handle the low end (800 hz) of
a Leslie crossover.
Some new drivers from the UK are promising though.
Replacement reverb damping fluid is the Nu-Jol as Gary K. wrote. NU-JOL was
the recommended replacement by the HAMMOND factory about 15 years ago.
Hardware stores have it. I'm going to try Sal's idea, as it may also solve
the sluggish shifting problems these old baby's have.... :-) (Sal- I
really will try it!)
