The 12AX7's hum terribly with dirty tube sockets. Get the DEOXIT commercial contact spray as it can be used for drawbars, cable connectors, etc. Do not use WD-40 or other non-electronic use spray in any tube sockets as some have very high voltages! Flashover between the pins and ground or from pin-to-pin could destroy the organ....and injure you. BE CAREFUL- bsure the organ is off. Let us know what you find as I have an Ice Cream Sundae bet with another tech on what the problem is. He thinks it's a bad power supply filter capacitor in the preamp or amp. Could be, but I'm betting it's simpler! Al, Thanks for the help here. As it turns out, one of the output tubes was bad. When it was replaced, the hum was dramatically reduced (quite normal now). Thanks to all for the respenses and information. Ken J
