John: The B-200 is a seventies vintage portable organ with Hammond's LSI technology. It is more like a Concord or B-3000 than today's sampled B3 clones. It does not and will never sound as "B3 authentic" as most of the new equipment currently available. The HL-822 Leslie used with this organ is electrically and functionally identical to the HL-722 (used with the B-3000), the 815 (a generic portable model) and the 715 (in a standard wood finish cabinet). All have the old-style solid-state amps with interstage transformers and come up a bit short in the "tone quality" department. If the price is right, it's worth considering but it does not sound like a tonewheel organ Harvey Olsen HOlsen5629@aol.com |
