I got the tip on clav tips a few years ago from a guy at Washington Music Center (301-946-8808). I was told to use the O Ring from a Chevy 50 Turbo Transmission. Someone went to check it out and told me it was the Chevy 350 Turbo Transmission O Ring. Let us know if you solve the mystery of the correct part, or if the o ring story is up there with the "Good Times" E-mail Virus. I also have heard in a pinch you can chew the eraser off your pencil... Good Luck, David >(Sorry for the non-hammond post.....) > >A few months back someone posted a trick about making new clavinet hammers >from an O-ring for some kind of Chevrolet. > >Is anyone familiar with this and if so, do you know the part number or what >specifically I should ask for at the store? > >They weren't too familiar with clavinets down at the Hi/Lo. > > >Thanks, > >Stewart > > -- David Chertock ap412@lafn.org Fearful Earful Recording 310-285-3098 P.O.
