The English rock band Kula Shaker (I.M.H.O. The best new band of the
decade) use alot of Hammond. They may have a "retro" sound but they are
very exciting. The next single will be a cover of Deep Purple's "Hush".
They won the award for best new band at the Brits awards last week.

Another great Hammond band are some friends of mine "Noddy's Puncture"
who come from the Rochdale area of England. They played at the ELP
convention in Birmingham in 95. They play covers of ELP, Focus, Rare
Bird, Lenny Kravitz, Nice etc. Tom the Keyboard player is a virtuoso
and is a friend of Keith Emerson. He plays a modified M10O through a 145
and the stage act includes America and Rondo complete with the knives,
reverb spring effects, pitch bending and feedback. The bands usual
audience are the young crowd in pubs who have never heard of these 70's
bands....and they go absolutely wild!

I'm very lucky to have this band playing at my wedding in May....it's
going to be absolute heaven!!!
